The 2026 Shiftine Day is literally Shift-ed from 16/5 to 15/6!

Some of you might noticed that I and our special characters did not post anything on 16 May 2026, which should be our Shiftine Day. Just like in 2024 and 2025.

But as you might expect, I myself is still busy working on the final assignments for my Semester 3 course, at least until 10 June 2026.

Therefore, I announce that our Shiftine Day will be Shift-ed. Yes, literally swapping out the numbers from 16/5 to 15/6. So, please expect us on 15/6 this year!

Because Shift-ing is fun…

We would like also to decide that future Shiftine Day events will use an alternating… sorry, I mean, Shift-ing date numbers to fall on every:

  • 16/5 (16 May) on odd-numbered years (2027, 2029, 2031, …)
  • 15/6 (15 June) on even-numbered years (2026, 2028, 2030, …)

Upcoming changes to the Shift and Shiftine character names.

As we’re still preparing to open up the doors of the Shiftine fandom, we want to rename the original male/“boy” and female/“girl” characters that make Shift, Shiftine.

The latest idea we’ve come up is to give them digital-first names, which means, “names that are based on literal digits”. In database systems, we call this nomenclature as ID.

So, do you think calling them “16 and 15” would be a good fit?
